As the year comes to a close, it often brings about nostalgia, reminiscing all the memories made, as well as looking towards what the future holds. While 2020 has no doubt been a year like no other, it’s still important to look back and reflect on all the good that still persisted. Even during the darkest of times, we all learn how to stand together, lean on each other, and give back.
This past April, Lace Silhouettes Lingerie sprung to action and took on their largest philanthropic endeavor ever; they called it OPERATION: Thank You.
Moved by the dedication of the healthcare professionals fighting COVID-19, Karen Thompson, Founder and President of Lace Silhouettes Lingerie, wanted to express her appreciation and admiration. Thompson felt the enormity of the crisis and wanted to show her gratitude to as many people as possible. The answer, she realized, lay in a warehouse in New Jersey.
Thompson, herself, a small business owner impacted by the Pennsylvania and New Jersey’s non- essential business closures, created the Wish Wrap to inspire women to dream big and reach their goals. Karen Thompson decided to give away over 7,000 Wish Wraps to healthcare professionals from New York all the way to Florida. “We care about our communities and everyone in them,” said Thompson. “They need to know they are appreciated. It was our way of offering a ‘distant hug’ and a heartfelt ‘thank you.’ In a time filled with so much uncertainty, there was one thing I was
certain of; I can make a difference.”
Lace Silhouettes Lingerie and their family of stores have been committed to making a difference for over thirty years and supports over 25 charities and community programs including Susan G Komen Brest Cancer Foundation, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Women’s Place, Teachers for Tomorrow, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Habitat for Humanity Cape May, and Pink2Pink.
To the years end, and the next chapter ahead, let’s all raise a glass and choose to not only see the good but to be the good!
