A Time for Tradition: Favorite Holiday Traditions | Lace Silhouettes Lingerie

The holiday season is here, and with it comes endless family-fun traditions and memories. It’s a time for family, giving, and spreading holiday cheer. With so much fun to be had, the season always seems to pass us by so quickly, which is why it is so important to soak up every second of it.

The holidays are filled with so many feel-good moments; from the warm glow of a decorated Christmas tree or menorah, the sinfully sweet aroma of fresh baked cookies wafting through the house, to the heartwarming taste of that first sip of eggnog that we long for all year long.

At the heart of the holiday season comes tradition, and so many families create their own fun and unique ways to celebrate and pass them down from generation to generation.  I wanted to share with you some of my favorite feel-good holiday traditions.

From My Family to Yours…

  1. Trimming the Tree

This is one of my personal favorites. As a kid, every year my family and I decorated the Christmas tree together and then had an indoor picnic dinner, in our pajamas, right next to it! It was always my favorite part of the holidays. It was our way of kicking off the season!

Pink shorts with red bows hang on a tree wrapped in lights, beside a road. Tag reads: "PJ Salvage, Live Life Cozy." Festive and cozy mood.

  1. Baking Cookies

There is always an endless supply of sweet treats at the holiday season. From sugar cookies and peanut butter blossoms, to competing to see who can decorate the cutest gingerbread man, nothing beats spending time with family in the kitchen (in my family, we have a bake off, loser has to clean the kitchen!).

  1. Holiday Parties

Let’s not forget about holiday parties filled with ugly Christmas sweaters, singing along to Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas is You" as loud as you can with your family and friends, and drinking festive holiday cocktails! My family and friends love to do a Christmas pajama party sleepover! We all wear Christmas pajamas and stay up all night watching holiday movies and sipping on spiked eggnog!

Four women in festive pajamas smile in a bright clothing store. Pajamas feature winter patterns, and a "Cozy" sign hangs above.

  1. The Magic of Holiday Lights

Every year my girlfriends and I get together and plan a trip to Peddler's Village to see their incredible holiday lights! Nothing puts me in the holiday spirit more, and their lights truly are a magical sight to see (if you have never been before, it is an absolute must-see!). We stroll through the village laughing, catching up on life, and take in the sights while sipping on wine and, attempting to, shop for holiday gifts (we usually end up finding lots of treasures for ourselves, too!).

  1. Christmas Eve Pj's

When I was growing up, and even still today, we always open one gift on Christmas Eve. That gift is always a pair of Christmas pajamas! We open our pj’s and immediately change into them! After, we all sit by the fire and stuff our faces with cookies until we can't fit one more bite, reminiscing our favorite moments of the season.

White sweater with red text "sweeter than hot cocoa" hangs on a hanger. Festive lights and greenery decorate the background. Cozy mood.

The holiday season is a time for tradition, whether it's continuing those traditions passed down from generation to generation, or starting new ones, I encourage you to live in the moment and cherish every second of it!
